English 11 Unit 7 Schedule for LAST THREE WEEKS OF Class!

Good Morning English 11 Scholars!

Only three weeks remain of this school year! Whew.

We will be working our way through Unit 7 in the textbook.  The final exam will cover Unit 7.
There are several significant scores during this unit: 2 Friday quizzes on the stories covered each week; presentation/PPT creation and presentation; final exam- assessment on Unit 7.  There may be some small daily work scores as well.

Bring your textbook each day.

Reminder: Part 1 and Part 2 Requirements:



Part 1:
a.     5 slides per author; include bullet pointed biographical information and images (consider information provided anyplace in your assigned pages; consider researching authors as well); see me with questions.
b.     Plot: 10 slides for each story or poem/article; include bulleted list of the events of the story or poem; include images; include an introduction to each character as well as a part of your plot sharing; see me with questions.

Part 2
Apply each ELEMENT of Fiction (below) to the longer/longest selection in your assigned pages (images and # slides as needed to be effective)
                                               i.     Setting
1.     Geographical (city, state, country, continent, planet, etc.)
2.     Time (day, month, season, morning/evening, etc.)
3.     Socio-economic characteristics (related to wealth, careers, culture, etc.)
4.     Specifics (room, temperature, age, etc.)

3.     Nature, Society, Self, Others, etc.
                                            iii.     Symbolism – three or more
                                            iv.     Perspective- who is telling the story?
                                              v.     Character Analysis

                                            vi.     Themes – three or more possible themes
                                           vii.     Evaluative – Your thoughtful review of the piece: strengths/weaknesses
                                         viii.     "Wow" Excerpts  (3 short excerpts)– and explain why
