Today we will read and discuss pages 317-324. As time allows, we'll work through pages 339-343.
Homework: Be ready to discuss in Lit Circle groups the first 1/5 of your book. Roles will be assigned for future Lit Circle discussions, but for our first session you have open discussion: your initial impressions, favorite passages, thought-provoking passages, vocabulary, rhetorical strategies used by the author, themes, characters, questions posed, contradictions, connections (text/text?, text/self?, text/history? etc.). Also, bring LOC textbook; as time permits we'll discuss two of the articles you read for last week (p. 289-294 and p.296-299).
